Byers received his BS degree in Animal Sciences from Colorado State University, and graduated as a University Honors Scholar. He earned his DVM degree from Cornell University. He is a practicing, board-certified veterinary specialist in both emergency/critical care and small animal internal medicine. Kohll’s/Essential Pharmacy Compunding

Essential Pharmacy Compounding (EPC) is a division of Kohll’s Pharmacy & Homecare which has been in operation since 1948. EPC has a long history of providing safe and effective compounded medication to humans and animals.

EPC is completely transparent and proud to provide customers with documentation validating USP standards are met and exceeded. EPC is licensed in all required states to provide sterile, non-sterile and controlled drug formulations. Hearts United For Animals

Hearts United for Animals is a no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization dedicated to the relief of suffering located in Aubrun, NE. They take the creatures who are lost, afraid, hungry or ill and comfort them, give them a warm soft bed, good food, medical care and most of all, love.

Hearts United for Animals not a typical shelter. The dogs share large yards where they romp and play with friends. We know and love every one of our dogs. Every dog at Hearts United for Animals has been altered and is current on medical care. They can tell you in detail about their personalities, likes and dislikes.

Hearts United for Animals is located on a 65-acre farm of trees and grass. They care for over 400 dogs at any time. All of the dogs at the Shelter are well loved and happy. If you have the opportunity to come to Nebraska, we hope that you can stop in and visit the dogs.

Hearts United for Animals is the innovator of long-distance adoptions. Beginning in 1993, we have placed dogs in 45 states and Canada. HUA has even been honored by the Smithsonian Institute for our oustanding use of technology in the placement of dogs though our Jet Set Dogs program.

Hearts United for Animals assists families of the Midwest region with vet care for their animals when the families are unable to pay. This very often means responding to an emergency call for a suffering pet that can have the care it needs because HUA is going to pay.

TLC Canine Rescue Center

Founded in the year 1999, by Pauline Larsen, The TLC Canine Center is a shelter for homeless and abused dogs in the Midwest. The main physical shelter is currently based in Newell, Iowa, and is a small facility with space for about 24 dogs, but will soon be expanding to the Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Omaha, Nebraska areas to serve dogs all across the Midwest. This includes moving to a foster based model of care so that each dog can have the one-on-one attention needed to thrive.

TLC Canine Center is a registered 501(c)(3), nonprofit shelter for dogs. All three locations are staffed by volunteers. We are thankful for the many organizations and individuals that support us. Without them, we could not survive! We are always in need of financial support to help with the day to day care of the animals and the vet bills which never end. The initial cost of most dogs brought to the shelter is at least $150. This includes necessary shots, treatment for parasites, neutering or spaying, and any other needed care. Often there are additional medical bills as we determine the specific problems of the individual animal. The TLC is also responsible for the expenses for the TLC dogs that are in foster homes.

Certified Dog Trainer Barbara Flick has an extensive background of service to people and animals. Barbara is active with the Nebraska Humane Society, pet rescue groups and as court appointed Guardian for Special Needs Adults. She is also an AKC Good Citizen evaluator.
